We use a variety of different nuts in all of our Palm Bites Chocolate covered dates, and besides being crunchy and delicious, nuts also have a multitude of health benefits! We love nuts so much that we also started carrying them separately, both roasted and salted. Check them out here. 

Let's talk about some of the amazing benefits of nuts!

Pistachios:

  • High in antioxidants 
  • High in protein
  • High in fibre 
  • Lowers cholesterol levels
  • Lowers blood sugar

Almonds:

  • High in Vitamin E 
  • Control blood sugar and blood pressure 
  • Lower cholesterol levels 
  • Protect LDL levels from oxidation 
  • May be effective for weight-loss by boosting metabolism 

Hazelnuts: 

  • Loaded with healthy fats 
  • Significant amount of antioxidants 
  • Reduce blood sugar levels 
  • Helpful at reducing inflammation 

Peanuts: 

  • Excellent source of plant-based protein
  • Low in carbohydrates 
  • Good source of vitamins and minerals include biotin, copper, folate and Vitamin E
  • Reduce your risk of obesity 

Walnuts:

  • High in Omega-3 Fatty Acids 
  • Ease inflammation that causes heart disease
  • Contains ellagic acid which reduces risk of certain cancers
Cashews:
    • Low in sugar and high in fibre
    • Rich source of polyphenols and carotenoids 

    Pecans

    • Pecans contain Omega-3's, which can help ease the pain of arthritis by reducing inflammation
    • Good source of calcium, magnesium, and potassium, which help lower blood pressure
    • Support your immune system (Vitamin A, E and zinc)
